Discovering Church Membership
What is Discovering Church Membership?
The Discovering Church Membership Class is orientation class designed to give you the opportunity to explore what it means to be a member of Monroe Community Church. This class clearly explains who we are as Christ followers, as United Methodists, the purpose and vision of our church, and the significance of our connection to The United Methodist Church.
Through this orientation you can learn what it means to belong to this church family, and why it’s important to grow spiritually to be a strong disciple of Christ.
There is no obligation to join MCC at the end of the class. You may even find you have more questions, or desire more time to consider joining.
Who should attend Discovering Church Membership?
This class is for anyone who has questions about what it means to be a Christian and part of Monroe Community Church.
The class also provides an opportunity to consider basic faith issues in the context of membership in the Church and have questions answered.
How does this process work?
Once you have completed the two-part Discovering Church Membership class, you then have the opportunity to decide if you are ready to become a member of MCC.
You can become a member if:
You're joining a church for the first time
You've been a member, but want a refresher
You're not currently a member of a church but have been previously
You're currently a member of another church. (In this case, we’ll write for a transfer of your membership after you join MCC.)
If you have questions about the Discovering Church Membership class contact the church office or Reverend Scott.
Child care is available upon request.
